Founder and Head of Practice of The Consilient Consultancy, Robin has 31 years' experience in insurance and related sectors.  He has worked for Blue Chip European insurers across the life, pensions and investment business.  He has provided technical training to financial advisers and large insurers in the areas of taxation, trusts, estate planning and investment.  He was one of the first to be awarded the CII's Advanced Financial Planning Certificate.  Robin also provided technically based sales training to financial planning trade associations in the UK.

In 2006, Robin was invited to move to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to revitalise the large regional direct sales force of an international life insurance company and also establish one of the first independent employee benefits offerings in the Gulf region.  Not long afterwards, he was recruited by Ernst & Young spending three years advising insurance companies and regulators in insurance matters throughout the MENA region.

Robin's role at EY led directly to over three years' employment by the Government of Dubai to design and implement its health insurance law.  The Consilient Consultancy, initially Dubai based, was founded in 2016 and his work there focused on providing advisory services in the area of health insurance and healthcare funding to international and regional insurers, pharmaceutical companies, third party administrators and regulators of several GCC countries.

This experience is supplemented by his work as Head of Program Content for the International Health Insurance Forum, a brand of Consilient established in 2018, which saw Robin develop an extensive network of commercial and regulatory contacts throughout sub-Saharan Africa, building upon his earlier conference speaking sessions in a number of countries.
